HP’s point of sale products come with one of the best standard warranties in the industry – it’s called 3/3/3.  That equates to 3 years of warranty on parts, 3 years on labor, and 3 years on ON-SITE next business day replacement.  HP can offer such a great standard warranty because their point of sale products are retail hardened and durable.

What if 3/3/3 is not good enough?  The answer to that is simple!  HP offers service Care Packs.  HP Care Packs are sku’ed service offerings and there are many options from which to choose.  You can extend the standard warranty out to 4/4/4 or 5/5/5 (referring to 4 or 5 years of warranty).  You can also purchase Care Packs to decrease response time to 4 hours from when the service request is received.  In addition, there are options for Accidental Damage Protection and hardware installation.  You can also decide whether you want to place only the POS terminal under warranty or if you want to place the POS terminal and peripherals under warranty.  The pricing for Care Packs is very competitive and service is usually an area where the margins are higher, so including it on your orders will increase your profitability.  The options are numerous, which creates a perfect fit for service to the end user, and selling it is easy.  Make sure you include it on your quote for HP hardware to your customer

Your customer probably will not want to complete a hardware refresh every 3 years.  Make sure they protect their hardware investment by keeping it warranted for up to 5 years!

What is the standard warranty on the point of sale products that you sell most often?  Do you typically include an extended service option on your quotes to your customers?
