A couple of days ago, I was searching around online checking out Electronic Medical Records (EMR) information for a customer and ran across an interesting infographic. Most people who are familiar with the healthcare industry already know the “big dogs” when it comes to the software side of that vertical. But what if you don’t? What if you’re still in the rookie pay grade when it comes to healthcare and you’re still learning?

Well, Capterra, Inc. did some research to identify the Top 20 Most Popular EMR Software Solutions that help medical professionals maintain/track patient information. This infographic identifies the overall “popularity” of EMR software by factoring:

  • Number of customers
  • Number of users
  • Revenue
  • Google searches
  • Social media following
  • Alexa/Compete rankings

It’s a pretty interesting way to measure. They also identify things like:

  • Top EMR by number of users
  • The target audience of each EMR provider
  • The top by social media followers
  • The most requested EMR features
  • The most requested software platform

Check out the infographic and see the results for yourself. Do you agree with their findings? Have you had experience with any of these, and what would your suggestions be regarding an EMR software solution?
