The Catalyst ConfigTool is an Excel macro driven tool. What this means for you is that when you start the Catalyst ConfigTool you may need to enable macros. In order to enable macros perform the following:
Excel 2003 SP3:
If you never see the below Security Warning then Macros have been disabled for your version of Microsoft Excel. If you are using Microsoft Excel 2003 SP3. If you’re running an earlier version of Microsoft Excel consult your help files on how to Enable Macros.
On your Menu Bar go to Tools then Macro then Security.
On the Security Level Tab select Medium for your security level. Press OK and Restart Excel.
Microsoft Excel 2007 SP1/2:
Microsoft Excel 2007 can be set to always allow “Trusted” locations to run. Below are instructions for enabling macros on a per use basis as well as setting the Catalyst ConfigTool directory as a trusted location so that every time the tool is ran no prompts will appear.
When Excel 2007 first starts a security warning will become visible above the formula bar. Click Options.
On the “Microsoft Office Security Options” window select Enablethis content. Excel should ask for macros to be enabled every time the ConfigTool is ran then click OK. To set the ConfigTool directory as a “Trusted” location click Open the Trust Center.
Once the Trust Center is open select Trusted Locations on the left hand side.
At the bottom of the window on the right hand side select Add new location.
In the “Microsoft Office Trusted Location” window that pops up enter the information exactly as it is below. Click OK.
The CatalystConfig directory will now be listed as a trusted location. Next time the tool is ran there will not be a prompt to enable macros. Click OK on the Trust Center to close then click OK on the Security Warningto start the ConfigTool macros.
Microsoft Excel 2010:
Enable Editing of the docuement by selecting the Enable Edition button in the warning that shows at the top of the spreadsheet.
Select Enable Content in the Security Warning at the top of the spreadsheet. This will start the ConfigTool and take you to the ConfigTool main menu.Learn more about this topic at scansourcecatalyst.com >
