Avaya

More than 2,300 partners, end users, and affiliates gathered at MGM Grand in Las Vegas this week for the largest Avaya event of the year, Avaya ENGAGE. This four-day event merged together three historically separate events – Avaya Technology Forum (ATF), Avaya Executive Partner Forum (AEPF), and International Avaya Users Group (IAUG) – and brought them under one roof for the first time. Aiming to unite all attendees and encouraging them to be better and stronger together, it was fitting that ‘One Avaya’ was a common theme throughout the conference.

ENGAGE attendees were energized with ideas and next steps for their Avaya practice throughout the conference. Check out some of our big takeaways below:

Avaya is Committed to the Channel

Sunday’s Partner Forum kicked things off with Avaya channel and sales leaders sharing their wisdom around channel strategies for the upcoming year and thanking partners for their commitment to Avaya. Avaya leaders like Gary Barnett (SVP and General Manager, Engagement Solutions) and Walter Denk (Global Channel Chief) discussed Avaya’s recent solution innovations and go-forward strategies, including Avaya’s continued investment in their software and services practice. Hearing how Avaya Solutions intersect with popular industry trends, including artificial intelligence, cloud, customer experience, IoT, big data, digital transformation, and virtual reality, further showcased how Avaya is at the forefront of innovation today.

Networking is Key

Throughout the agenda, attendees and exhibitors were encouraged to network with one another to share best practices and see new technology in action. Networking receptions provided the perfect close to a full day of learning and listening, and the packed Solutions Expo provided more opportunities to learn and network. The breakout sessions provided ample opportunity to join together and learn about what Avaya and partners are doing in midmarket, cloud, networking, business strategies, and more. Having an opportunity to talk in person and learn more about our partners’ needs is always a priority of ours, and we were also excited to host more than 100 of our top partners on Sunday night at the ScanSource-exclusive VIP party at Whiskey Down.

Avaya is Positioned for Growth

Hearing Avaya CEO, Kevin Kennedy, give an overview and update on the state of Avaya’s financials provided a great glimpse into the company’s plans to emerge a stronger company. As we learned more about the synergy between Avaya and its partners, customers, and affiliates, it was apparent Avaya is positive about and ready for the future with plans for continued growth and innovation. As Kennedy said, “Our prospects for growth have never been better. We have reorganized to cut our debt service, and we will emerge stronger than ever.”

Moving to the Digital Age

Kennedy also said the digital age represents “a journey we can take together. But now is the time to start. Don’t wait, or you will be left behind.” As everyone gathered to better understand the meaning and impact of digital transformation, Avaya leadership was quick to say it will require partners, customers, and Avaya themselves to join together as one. Digital transformation was a focus throughout the event, and new solutions – and partnerships – were introduced to fuel those efforts.

Partnerships are a Plus

Another big takeaway was the importance of capitalizing on the excitement around all of the new opportunities that Avaya has on the horizon. It’s no secret that Avaya’s communications solutions are prepped to fuel an abundance of industry and vertical solutions, so it makes perfect sense that Avaya would introduce new partnerships at ENGAGE with legends like Salesforce, Hewlett-Packard, Arrow SI, and EXP360. And, with the announcement of Avaya and Spoken’s new BPO Cloud (Cloud-Center-as-a-Service) and Zang Spaces (Meetings-as-a-Service), ENGAGE was an exciting time to learn more about Avaya’s commitment to the cloud and innovation.

With so many takeaways and opportunities for collaboration, now’s the perfect time for ScanSource and Avaya resellers to partner together and move forward.
