The Summit x250e switch is a 24 or 48 port edge switches.  With a non-blocking back-plane and quality of service you can be assured that your high priority applications are going to get the bandwidth they need across the LAN.  The stacking capabilities allow this switch to be positioned in small to large deployments.

Possible Deployments:

The x250e can be deployed anywhere bandwidth or QoS is a concern.  Examples include:

  • Small to large VoIP installs
  • Any install where large amounts or desktop traffic is generated and QoS is needed for any application.
  • IPv4 or IPv6 installs
  • Can power any IEEE 802.3af compliant device (p models only)




  • 24 or 48 10/100 Base-T ports
  • (2) combo ports
    • (2) 100/1000Base-T
    • (2) SFP ports
      • Supports Fiber transceivers
  • (1) 10/100 Base-T out-of-band management port
  • (2) back-plane stacking ports (cables not included)


  • Stacking back-plane: 40 Gbps
  • Switching fabric: 48.8 Gbps – 97.6 Gbps
  • Packet Forwarding Rate: 65.5 Mpps – 72.6 Mpps

  • Full Class 3 802.3af support on every port
    • x250e-24P does not require additional external power

How to Configure in the Catalyst ConfigTool:

To configure the x250e in the Catalyst ConfigTool follow these steps:


1.  Select New Config from the Main Menuof the Catalyst ConfigTool.   01-sw190


2.   Select tabs SMB Vendor then Network then Switches then Extreme button 01-5min-x250e


3.  Select the x250e tab and then select the unit and quantity needed.   Don’t forget to include stacking cables and transceivers for up-links.02-5min-x250e
